Heat-Us is a performance in which philosophy, neuroscience and thermal cameras dance together, while heat becomes a visible element of the dramaturgy, in which the audience also participates. The space thus transforms into a thermal stage where the boundaries between those who watch and those who act fade away. The project revolves around the use of thermal imaging, a technology that transforms in real time the surface temperatures of bodies and objects into images. While its use during the Covid-19 pandemic is known for monitoring body temperature, less known are its applications in the environmental field and in relation to the perception of one’s own body.

Starting from this scientific reconnaissance, Heat-Us proposes a reflection on heat as a lived experience and as an environmental signal, through a participatory performance in which the audience interacts with its own thermal image. The project originates from a PhD research in philosophy, involving the collaboration of the Department of Philosophy “Piero Martinetti” of the University of Milan and the company Next2U.

Waiver for the temporary detection of biometric data

The audience is hereby informed that, during the performance, biometric data relating to body temperature may be recorded for performative and interactive purposes. Such data will be used exclusively in real time and will not be saved, stored, or shared in any form.

Participation in the performance implies implicit consent to this temporary and anonymous mode of detection.
